CYBER SAFETY Helping Kids to be Safe on the Internet
A Workshop for Hudson Parents Tuesday March 30, 6:30-8:30 PM Hudson High School E101
Aneesh Kashalikar, a fifth grader at the C.A. Farley Elementary School won the school-level competition of the National Geographic Bee on January 13, 2010. The school-level Bee, at which students answered oral questions on geography, was the first round in the 21st annual National Geographic Bee. Denton Owen, a fourth grader was the second place winner. School winners, including Aneesh, will now take a written test; up to 100 of the top scorers in each state will be eligible to compete in their state Bee in April. The National Geographic Society will provide an all expenses paid trip to Washington D.C, for state champions. The first place national winner will receive a $25,000 college scholarship, among other prizes.

Marjorie Rowe, Reading Specialist at Mulready School, is one of 25 recipeints of the Reading Recovery Council professional development grants. A $1,000. award will allow Ms. Rowe to attend the Reading Recovery National Conference in Columbus, OH.
HUDSON —In January, five high school students will join students from four European countries at the Young Scientists International Meeting in Portugal. While downward trends in alcohol use are promising, there are indications that marijuana use may be increasing in MetroWest. Although lifetime marijuana use remained steady from 2006 to 2008 at 33%, current marijuana use increased from 20% to 23%, with a somewhat greater increase among males than females.
