We had a very successful first day for our students. The excitement and energy that was present as I visited each building was reinvigorating. This was my 36th first day of school and the excitement, anticipation and nervousness are still with me. Maybe next year will be the year I sleep the night before school starts. I want to take a moment to thank you for sharing your child with us for the 2014-2015 school year. It is an honor to have each of them as part of our community of learners.
Today was a great day in each of our buildings. I want to again thank our professional, dedicated staff who worked throughout the summer to create a welcoming environment for your child. We had a few first day busing issues that we are actively addressing. I am confident that our transportation team will resolve these quickly. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and anxiety that this may have caused you or your child.
I would encourage you to email any busing concerns related to bus stops that cannot be addressed at your child’s school, to: email@example.com . This will allow us to effectively and efficiently work to resolve issues like those that occurred this afternoon in real time while evaluating each bus stop issue on a case by case basis. Please use this email if you have any safety concerns about your child’s bus stop or if you want to add/change any bus stops. Safety concerns will be evaluated immediately and any changes will be promptly made. We will be refraining from changing stops for non-safety reasons for approximately 3 weeks. This will allow for the dust to settle and for us to make the best decisions possible while working out issues we encounter in day to day operations.
I am looking forward to getting to know you and your family better this year. I would like to invite you to a Parent Welcome Conversation on September 16th at 6:30 pm. We will meet at the Quinn Middle School. I would like to use that time to answer questions you may have and explore ways that we can work together to provide the best education possible to Hudson students. I hope you will consider joining me.
