Dear Forest Avenue Families,
It is hard to believe that November is already upon us. With Halloween just a memory, and the fall foliage starting to fade, November brings with it important holidays such as Veteran’s Day and Thanksgiving. During this busy month there will be lots happening here at Forest Avenue School.
With our Positive Behavioral Support Plan now in full swing, on November 15th Forest Avenue students will begin to explore our second character trait, Outstanding Citizenship. Students will be learning what it means to be a good citizen starting with the concepts of:   I will do my share to make the school community better for everyone; and
I will build a good reputation for the school community by working together and cooperating. If you have a chance please stop by the hallway near the entrance of our school cafeteria to see all of the students who have been recognized for committing acts of fairness by the hanging of a leaf on our Fairness Tree. As the learning continues, and our forest grows, soon this tree will be joined by our Citizenship Tree.
I hope that you all had an opportunity to meet with your son/daughter’s classroom teacher during Parent Teacher Conferences in October. Another important means of communication is our school listserv.   Every Tuesday, weekly announcements are sent home via the listserv to help keep everyone informed on all the great things that are taking place here at Forest Avenue. You will find directions on how to sign up for the listserv in this newsletter.
Lastly, with First Trimester grades closing on December 8th parents can anticipate report cards being issued on December 16th. I hope that you and your family have a very safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving break.

Sincerely,
David Champigny
