Mission Statement
In a changing world, Hudson High School provides a safe and supportive environment in which each person is challenged to fulfill his or her academic, intellectual, creative, and social potential. Guided by a commitment to ethical considerations we engage in real world challenges while preparing students for higher level academics, workforce success, active citizenship, and life-long learning.
Goals
Academic:
Students will demonstrate skills of effective communication using formal and informal modes:
- In writing
- In oral presentations
- Through technology
Students will develop and utilize strong critical thinking skills by:
- Identifying, analyzing and solving problems
- Extending thinking skills to more complex content
- Applying learned skills across the curriculum
- Students will take personal responsibility for setting academic goals and engaging in active learning through:
- Meeting deadlines and completing assignments
- Taking appropriate and challenging courses
- Taking the initiative to seek academic assistance as needed
Social:
Students will demonstrate respect for themselves and others, assume responsibility for their behavior and develop personal and social skills for life.
Civic:
Students will be active participants in their communities, acknowledge and explore the cultural diversity of their communities, and demonstrate the rights and responsibilities of members of a democratic society.
