Student Drop-Off by Parent/Guardian

Morning arrival – buses and cars, front entrance

Student drop off time begins at 7:30 A.M.  Please do not drop off any child/children prior to 7:30 A.M., as there will be no adult supervision.

Teachers will be on duty at the front of the school and on the playground from 7:30 to 8:00 am

All buses, morning and afternoon, will use the front entrance of the building.

For the safety of your children and other children, we insist no child is dropped off in the parking lot area.  All students are to be dropped off curbside, in the drop off zone where the teacher on duty can ensure the safety of every student.

No vehicle is permitted to park along the curb.  If you are walking your child/children in for a particular reason, you must park in a parking space and escort your child.

No parent will be allowed to park between the drop off sign and the orange cones in the morning.  This space is designated for continuous traffic flow only.

Do not pass cars that are stopped and in process of dropping off students.  If your child has exited your car you must wait until the car(s) in front of you have started exiting from the drop off zone before you can begin to exit and move forward.

It is against the law to pass school buses while the lights are flashing and children are boarding or disembarking the bus.  We request that you do not pass school buses during drop off when the lights are flashing.

Student Pick-Up by Parent/Guardian

If you regularly pick up your child/children at dismissal, 2:20 P.M., you need to follow the procedures described below:

You will receive a Parent Pick Up (PPU) form that needs to be completed and returned immediately.  All PPU children must have a PPU form on file.

Once school begins, we will provide you with a laminated paper with the last name, as you would like it to appear. Post this on the passenger window when you pick up your child.

Parents and/or those persons designated by the parents on the PPU form will drive behind the Mulready School.

Cars will enter and line up.

Drivers remain in their cars and students will be released carefully to the first few cars in line.

Once the student gets into the car, you will wait for a signal from the teacher on duty and pull away ONLY at that time.

The car line will progress forward and the same procedure will apply until all children are safely in vehicles with no vehicles remaining.

Any student remaining after all other cars have departed will go with the teacher on duty to their classroom.  The responsible party will enter the office to pick up their child.

If someone other than the regular PPU driver, or one listed on your form, is planning to pick up your child/children, you must notify the school office by 12:00 noon that same day.  The school number is:  978-567-6170 or send in a note on that day with the child

Walkers

If your child is walking to and from school, he/she should be aware of the following guidelines:

Always cross at the crosswalk.

Wait for the crossing guards signal to cross.

All bikes should be walked across the street.

If there is no crossing guard, wait for the traffic to pass or someone to stop before stepping into the road.

If they are crossing at regular dismissal time and there is no crossing guard, report it to the office at Mulready School or contact the police.
